Results are in for the “20-Miler Challenge” sponsored by the Williamson County Park’s Department to celebrate the July 22, 2024 one-year anniversary of River Ranch County Park.

By the hike-a-thon’s November 30 deadline, 70 participants had successfully met the challenge by walking, hiking or jogging the required 20 miles within the park’s extensive trail system. Of the 70 hikers, 18 were members of FRRCP! Collectively, these 70 founding members of the “20-Miler Club” traversed 1,736.03 miles.

While some aspiring participants covered the trails at a time, pace and distance of their own choosing, others took part in one or more of the 10 Guided Hikes offered by FRRCP. FRRCP members with the Sun City Hiking Club led these hikes along 5 different routes within the park’s trail system on five Saturday mornings over the course of the Challenge.

Of the successful challengers, 20 lucky individuals were selected at random to receive a Wilco Annual Parks Pass (each valued at $50) which were generously donated by the Friends of River Ranch.
